Welcome to the city of Gyeongsan official website!

 Our city, Gyeongsan is located in the center of southern part of
Gyeongsangbuk-do(province).

Historically, our city was the capital of the ancient Apdog-guk(kingdom) and also is
a place with a historical background which had been an outpost of the unification
of the three old kingdoms during the Silla period(A.D. 642), ruled by the general
Kim Yu-sin.

Gyeongsan is the city in which three respectable sages and scholars were born. They are Wonhyo who was
a great Mahayana buddhist priest , Seolchong, a great scholar who created and interpreted ancient characters called 'Idu', and Ilyeon, a great Zen master who wrote an ancient history book titled 'Samgukyusa'.
Gyeongsan is the city of research and academy in which 13 universities with 110,000 college students and
190 numbers of attached research centers are located, and also is the high-tech venture business city which is built for assisting 1600 numbers of small and midium sized corporations including Gyeongbuk Techno-Park and Korean Textile Machinery research center.

 Especially, we have valuable tourist attractions of great scenery around Gwanbong stone budda, so-called Gattbawi Budda(National treasure No.431)which wears Korean traditional cylindrical hat. The Budda is located at Daehan-ri,
Wachon-myeon, Gyeongsan and especially famous for making one's wish come true if anyone earnestly prays for him.

 The amount of production of jujube, one of the special product from our city, is 2654 ton per year as the first place throughout the whole country and famous for the best quality and powerful efficacy for human health.
I eagerly want to raise the self governing capacity of our own city based on the citizens' unity to find new power source of growth and the development.
I set our slogan as "Let′s build dynamic Gyeongsan with citizens". I will do my best efforts to make the dynamic city harmonized with education, culture, industry, environment and welfare.
