Topography |
Topographically located in the central part of Southern Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Gyeongsan is adjacent to Daegu Metropolitan City in the west, Cheongdo-gun in the south, and Yeongcheon City in the northeast. In addition, Gyeongbuseon and Daeguseon railroads, Gyeongbu Expressway, and National road No. 4 (industrial road) and No. 25 pass through this city at the eastern edge of Daegu City so that it is a key place of transportation.
Gyeongsan, therefore, plays an important role in connection between Daegu Mteropolitan City and adjacent areas, such as Pohang, Gyeongju, Ulsan and Busan. The city is very close to Daegu Metropolitan City so that it is considered to be a multiple city where there are a variety of functional areas designed for farming, schools, residence and industries.
